Siemens Apogee Wireless Chosen 2006 Gold Product of the Year
By Consulting – Specifying Engineer Magazine

BUFFALO GROVE, ILL., December 7, 2006 - Siemens Building Technologies, Inc. announced today that readers of Consulting – Specifying Engineer (CSE) chose the APOGEE® Wireless Building Automation System as a 2006 Gold Product of the Year award winner.

According to CSE, the Product of The Year (POY) awards were established to provide the magazine's print and electronic subscribers with a compilation of the best, peer-reviewed new products in the major M/E/P engineering system disciplines. Winners were chosen in a 2-step process: First, an independent panel of engineering judges scored all POY entrants. Subscribers and Web users then scored each product in a category from 1 to 10, with 10 being the best.

Siemens led the industry with the successful debut of the first Wireless Field Level Network last year. APOGEE Wireless offers unprecedented system design and implementation flexibility and ensures network integrity by creating multiple redundant paths of communication through a mesh topology system architecture. The network is self-healing, so communication is assured with control devices across the building automation system.
“We are proud to be selected for this award by CSE's readers,” said Kevin Osburn, vice president, Building Automation Solutions, Siemens Building Technologies.  “Apogee Wireless is allowing our customers to take advantage of the reliability wireless mesh networks deliver across a wide array of applications.”
