New Insight 3.3 Software for Siemens' APOGEE® BMS Makes It Easier to Reduce Operating Costs from Various Systems in Multiple Buildings

Streamlines point database setup and features built-in data conversion tools

Insight 3.3, the most powerful, easiest-to-use GUI software yet for Siemens Building Technologies' popular APOGEE building management and control system, delivers the enhanced performance and convenience tools that building managers want. By giving managers better access to multiple facility operations, Insight software helps them reduce operating costs, improve staff productivity and better ensure occupant safety - throughout a building or campus, from a single workstation.

New Insight 3.3 delivers:

• General Enhancements: Too numerous to fully describe here, general enhancements include an offline dialog box for all editors to improve database management and user efficiency; an expanded HVAC application-specific graphics library; and more clearly descriptive TEC and UC subpoint locators.
• Attribute Duplicator: Now users can copy point properties to another point or group of points to streamline point databases setup. This functionality allows the quick duplication of alarm destinations, standard and enhanced alarm definitions, access groups, default graphics and trend definitions.
• Online Documentation: Improved online user documentation is accessible from the main menu. Online documentation in HTML, PDF and Web Help file formats are available for Insight and APOGEE Go, as well as for OPC Server and BACnet Client Server options. Online links to technical information are also provided.

Insight 3.3 includes data conversion tools built to make converting data from prior 2.x or 3.x versions easy. Also for new installations, Insight 3.3 is designed for Windows 2000 or Windows NT 4.0 standalone workstations and workstations connected to a Management Level Network (MLN). The BACnet option, however, is not supported on Windows 2000.

Siemens' APOGEE BMS is an open system integration architecture that allows building managers to integrate virtually any building system using open communications protocols with easy-to-install drivers. Insight 3.3 also supports the new APOGEE Go Web server product. The APOGEE-Go product provides a Web interface for accessing selected Insight functions via Microsoft Explorer or Netscape Navigator browsers.
