Welcome to a New Year! In This Issue –
During the extreme winter weather months, your customers may be looking for some good solutions on how to keep their environments – and occupants – comfortable while reducing costs. At Siemens, we strive to provide you with the products and answers you need to deliver superior combustion control solutions to your customers. One way to achieve this is with controls that are easy to install and use. The RWF40 temperature/pressure controller is such a product, an outstanding controller that helps burners and boilers run more efficiently and effectively, prolonging the boiler’s life and conserving energy.

Customer Corner |
|
A combustion rep in Vancouver, Frank Sever, Jr., of Emona Sales, has been using the RWF40 since 1999 because it is one of the user-friendliest controls Siemens has ever made. Today, some of the manufacturers he represents use the RWF40 exclusively. Frank notes that with controllers, ease of use is most critical – especially to the end user. With the RWF40 auto-tune, it knows when to cut from modulating high to low, so “you don’t need a PhD, it practically programs itself. Just set it and forget about it.”

Coming Late Summer!
As announced at the 2007 ASHRAE show, the LMV3 Linkage-Less Combustion Control will be ready for delivery by late Summer. Similar to the LMV5, the LMV3 is a cost-effective linkage-less system designed for smaller burners and boilers in the 400,000 to 5,000,000 BTUH capacity range. Call your Siemens Representative for complete specifications and product availability.

|

How a controller looks is important to many of your customers. You know who they are because you’ve seen their boiler rooms… they’re in tip-top shape and everything shines.
The RWF40 satisfies the demands of the tidiest customer. It’s small enough to fit in just about every application and attractive, so it upholds the aesthetics of the boiler room environment. How a controller is priced is important to all of your customers. With the Siemens RWF40, you know you can sell a great, dependable product that’s backed with the trusted Siemens name, at a competitive price.
The end result? The RWF40 holds boiler temperature/ pressure at the desired setpoint to deliver consistent output that’s better than any other controller out there, for a reasonable price.

You Should Know
Perhaps you already know Bertram Leng, Director of the Siemens Combustion Controls Group. In 1999, Bertram personally installed the first RWF40 prototype at Emona Sales. The results were excellent. Bertram believes the RWF40 is the best boiler control on the market – nothing else comes close. Say your customer asks you to fulfill the following spec: their boiler needs to be able to accept a 4-20 mA signal from the DDC building control for the purpose of controlling the boiler setpoint through a range from 162 to 202°F; should the DDC signal fail, the boiler shall default to a setpoint of 180°F. In less than 30 seconds, the RWF40 could be configured to meet your customer’s requirements. If Bertram owned your rep company, every boiler sold would have an RWF40! |

The only temperature/pressure controller designed specifically for the burner/boiler industry!
The RWF40 is the first and only single loop, temp/ pressure PID control on the U.S. market that is designed and engineered specifically for burner/boiler applications. Yes, anyone who wants a PID (Proportional Integral Differ-ential) control can buy one off-the-shelf. But, if you knew that the RWF40 was the only modulating control loaded with a portfolio of features typically required by burner/boiler applications, why would you choose any other? With low-fire hold, outdoor temperature reset, night setback, and setpoint limits, your customers will be able to meet their building’s heating requirements, create more energy efficient and comfortable environments, and prolong the life of their boiler equipment.

Smart AND Attractive.
The RWF40 is intelligent – the Auto Tune function allows the PID parameters to be optimized to the boiler for maximum temperature or pressure stability without hunting. Examine the following features of this controller and then put it to work at your customer’s facilities.
Are your customers frustrated by slugs of hot and cold water in their buildings? The optimized RWF40 helps produce a steady flow of the exact desired water temperature or steam pressure. An intelligent Low Fire Hold function minimizes the number of on/off cycles, positively influencing temperature and pressure control, while maximizing plant efficiency and minimizing thermal stress on the boiler, so it lasts longer.
Outdoor Temperature Reset meets the challenge of optimizing building comfort and plant efficiency as the outside temperature varies. The RWF40 connects to a temperature sensor to calculate setpoint based on the outdoor temperature.
The RWF40 interfaces with building management and DDC systems. It accepts a control signal from a building management DDC system so it can factor in all building variables (weather, occupancy, time of day, etc.) to determine the most energy-efficient setpoint.
Are you calling on customers in commercial buildings, offices, or schools who are looking for ways to conserve energy? The Night Setback function on the RWF40 enables facilities to program dual setpoints, creating comfortable climates when buildings are in use and dropping temperatures when unoccupied.
